Handmade by Esquivel
On the heels of his CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award nomination, George Esquivel presented a collection of men’s and women’s shoes yesterday afternoon--each pair created with supreme craftsmanship and the finest-quality leather. "I feel so blessed!" he declared, referencing a year's worth of accolades. "It’s all about utility and function," explained Esquivel of his shoes, which are made entirely in-house. "The inspiration for this collection was the American worker, specifically the American worker in the 1930s," he explained. "Back then, people simply didn’t own twenty pairs of shoes. You only need a couple of really great styles. I will wear my boots for four months at a time. But I have on a special-occasion pair for today. I made them just for the presentation!"
