A McQueen Memento
The future of Alexander McQueen's business remains in question, but if the presentation of his final collection in Paris is any indication, the designer's stunning work is very much in demand. We're still swooning over his kaleidoscopic Spring 2010 collection, like this reptile dress from Colette. In stretch viscose, it's more casual and wearable (and affordable!) than his more couture-esque creations--so snap yours up fast. THE DETAILS: Alexander McQueen viscose strech dress, reptile print, $512.14, www.colette.com

10 Years of Valery Joseph
As master coiffeur to the chicsters, Valery Joseph has become a New York institution. As he celebrates ten years in business, he reminisced with Chic.
Dear Chic Report,
I can’t believe the time has come to celebrate our 10th anniversary. I feel just as excited and thrilled about hair as I did 10 years ago. I remember asking my beautiful wife Revi to marry me in 2000 and our son Leonardo was born just a year later! Before Leonardo could walk, it was 2003 and I was signing a lease for our flagship salon at 1044 Madison. Those early years at the salon saw lots of long layers with long bangs a la Farrah Faucett, juxtaposed with short, thick bangs…they were the rage in 2004! Opening my second salon at 820 Madison made 2005 an incredible year. No one was surprised in 2006 when we opened our third location in Bridgehampton. Year after year, my clients would come in to the city after Labor Day with hair that was not properly cared for. Instead of always fixing things, we decided to give them a convenient location in Bridgehampton! A favorite highlight (literally!) of mine happened when a young, vibrant, gorgeous aspiring singer walked in and I convinced her to change her flowing locks from black to blond. I can’t imagine Lady Gaga any other way, can you? In 2009, I opened my fourth salon at 957 Park Avenue--and I am so excited to see what the next 10 years will bring!
